ST. PAUL, MN, June 28, 2022—The state’s most effective small business political action committee today endorsed Representative Donald Raleigh (Blaine) for re-election in House District 32B.

Minnesota small businesses are facing painful economic headwinds – record inflation, skyrocketing energy costs, labor shortages, supply chain disruptions – and many have not fully recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, Main Street needs strong advocates in the Legislature.

“Representative Raleigh scored 100% on the 2021-22 NFIB MN Voting Record and has proven he’s willing to fight for the right of our members to own, operate, and grow their businesses,” said John Reynolds, NFIB Minnesota State Director. “Don understands first-hand the challenges facing Main Street, and he is committed to making our state a better place to raise a family and do business.”

State legislative endorsements are decided by the NFIB MN PAC Board, which is comprised of small business owners in the state. Incumbent legislative endorsements are based on the 2021-22 NFIB MN Voting Record. Lawmakers must have a score of 70 percent or better to be considered for an endorsement.

NFIB represents over 10,000 small businesses in Minnesota. The NFIB MN PAC endorsement is an important signal to voters across the state that a candidate will stand with small business.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July!
This is my absolute favorite holiday.

This is the day that we Americans declared that we were free, independent, and set apart from the rest of the world who were subjects to kings and emperors. We set our own course. We declared ourselves to be independent, self reliant, free. We did not slough off the shackles of a king to then be bound by another king.

We declared that we were sovereigns, that we were “endowed by (our) Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are
LifeLiberty and the pursuit of Happiness. ”

We rose up and stated that by the “Authority of the good People” we had the right, entitled by God, to be a new and separate country. A people bound together not by a flag, a fence or by force, but an idea. The idea of the united States of America. Each state independent, each state free, each state with their own guiding constitution, government, and leaders.

But no king.

I always marvel that our founders did not look to others for their liberty. They stated that we had a natural right to liberty. But with this declaration comes the responsibility to maintain this liberty.
– No king is coming to save us.
– No one will come to our rescue.
– It is us, and us alone.

We are a people who strive for a more perfect union, one that is rooted in safety with the goal of being happy. What an amazing idea.

That is why I am running for re-election. We have a government of citizen servants who answer to the people, to you.

I will never forget that the reason I was elected as a State Representative is to serve the people. Never myself.
